Japanese Magnolia Blossoms. Spring. Stuyvesant Square, New York City.
As the steel exoskeletons that wind along city buildings bask in the glow of springtime, fresh-faced blossoms blush in the warmth of the sun tilting their heads skyward hoping for a kiss.
And the earth swoons.

Spring definitely ‘sprung’ in New York City this past weekend. Trees are already blooming nearly a month ahead of schedule which is unusual but also beautiful to witness after what seemed like a long and rather dreary winter.
These are some of my favorite spring blooms. They are Magnolia Liliiflora also known as Japanese Magnolia. The tree is actually native to China, but was also cultivated for centuries in Japan. It was introduced to English-speaking countries from Japan and so the name of Japanese Magnolia has stuck even though the tree is not technically native to Japan.
I love how lush the blossoms are when they first open. They are quite delicate though and don’t last for very long so it’s a special and rare treat to catch them when they first bloom.

Spring tulips on the West Side Highway. Chelsea, New York City.
The world opens up in the spring drenching itself in new warmth: heady intoxicating warmth that bubbles up beneath the surface for months before rushing out and over the parched earth.
And as the sun washes away all of the fear that has been buried beneath winter layers, petals open up one by one yawning delicately into the light of a thousand sparks of promise and hope.

OH HELL NAH!!
Okay, so I just have to rant now! So I swim for my high school (our season is over now) but anyway I swam the boys 200 Freestyle at sectionals and got second place! Yet the boys 400 relay got ninth place (last) and somehow by the grace of god managed to move on to districts. WHAT THE HELL!!! Out of the whole relay only one guy was good, the other three were only in it because they were tall!!! They have no technique! I have awesome technique and so I never get tired from swimming long distances! These tall FATASSES get winded from swimming only a 50!!! I am so pissed and needless to say I have the three of them drown or break a lung or something! As for the fourth member of the relay: Good luck! Hope you have fun!!
-Oh that felt good! Now I can carry on with my day happily now that I got this bottled up anger out of my system!
I love this song! I found it today while listening to Pandora before school and immediately fell in love with it! I know some French but its still a little hard to understand all the lyrics. However from what I understood this song is about Yelle wanting to make babies with a guy because he owns ponies and horses. Haha, tots random, but that what you gotta love about French Eletronica!
